Microchipping

A microchip is very small device, about the size of a grain of rice. It is implanted with a needle just under the skin between the shoulder blades at the back of the pet’s neck. It is a permanent method of electronic identification. In the unfortunate event of the pet becomes lost, it is far more likely for the pet to be reunited with their family.

By law, in Queensland all cats and dogs must be implanted with a microchip between 8 and 12 weeks of age. Only authorised person may microchip a cat or dog.

Our veterinarians and some of our veterinary nurses are authorised implanters. We offer microchip implantation and registration to a microchip registry.
